Texas guitar shredder Jesse Dayton has played with X’s John Doe since 2014 as part of his backing band, also pulling double duty as the opener (he was here last year for Doe’s McMenamins show, then returned this year when Doe came back). That would be reason enough to recommend the raucous, honky-tonkin’ singer-songwriter, but check out the rest of his resume: playing with Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, producing The Supersuckers’ Eddie Spaghetti, recording two soundtrack albums for Rob Zombie films “The Devil’s Rejects” and “Halloween II.” And that’s all without mentioning his extensive solo discography. He’s coming back to the Old St. Francis School on Wednesday as part of McMenamins’ Great Northwest Music Tour, and if you missed him with Doe (and even if you didn’t), go.

Jesse Dayton: 7 p.m. Wednesday; free; McMenamins Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St., Bend; mcmenamins.com or 541-382-5174.
