A crash on the Bend Parkway on-ramp at Empire Avenue killed a motorcyclist and injured a bicyclist Saturday night, according to Bend Police.

Suzann Miller, 25, of Bend, was pronounced dead at the scene after police responded to the 8:20 p.m. accident. Jacob Raines, 36, of Bend, was transported to St. Charles Bend with serious injuries.

According to Bend Police, Miller was riding a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle south on the Empire on-ramp to merge onto the southbound Parkway. Miller collided with Raines, who was cycling on the on-ramp, according to police, and this resulted in a secondary collision with Jevan Bloss, 18, of Bend, who was driving a 1999 Volvo. Bloss was not injured.

The crash caused a partial closure of the southbound Parkway and closure of the Empire on-ramp for several hours, Bend police said. It’s still under investigation.
