This category is a hard win to take with the plethora of festivals that reside in Central Oregon every year. From music festivals to celebrations of craft beer and food, there were plenty of options for readers to choose from. However, the annual Fall Festival came out on top with first place. The smell of freshly-baked apple pies and crisp autumn air just can’t be beat.
The seasonal festival blends music, art, food, drinks and shopping. An extensive fine artists promenade brings artist and craftspeople from across the Pacific Northwest to Bend and attendees can shop for locally grown produce and fall goods at the harvest market. At night the crowd comes to life with entertainment from out-of-town bands like Barracuda or the Flobots. In addition to the main events, attendees can participate in fall-themed activities likes the pumpkin carving competition or the pie-baking contest.
