OSU-Cascades to open incubator

Oregon State University-Cascades will open a business incubator, the Innovation Co-Lab, in March on the second floor of the Graduate and Research Center on SW Columbia Street.

Adam Krynicki, executive director of the incubator, said entrepreneurs can lease dedicated desks, or flex-time desks, and gain access to business advising and mentors. Three software companies have signed up, but Krynicki said OSU also wants to work with artisans who aspire to sell their products beyond Bend. “The world’s not going to be built on apps alone,” he said.

There are 20 desk spaces available, Krynicki said. An application form will be available at the end of February, he said. OSU’s goal is to help companies get started, gain traction with sales and then graduate after six months to a year.

Lease rates will be $250 per month for a dedicated desk space, $150 per month for a flexible desk and $85 per month for access to the common areas and training but no desk.
