EUGENE —Oregon freshman forward Troy Brown Jr. informed Ducks coach Dana Altman on Tuesday he is declaring for the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-7-inch Brown, a Pac-12 all-freshman honorable mention, averaged 11.3 points, 3.2 assists and a team-high 6.2 rebounds a game for Oregon in 2017-18.

“We really enjoyed working with Troy this year,” Altman said. “He is a terrific young man and we look forward to the next chapter of his career in the NBA.”

Brown is the first Duck to declare for the draft after his freshman season.
