Deschutes County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Alfalfa man Thursday afternoon after he led them on a car chase through the rural county, rolled his Jeep and tried to run away through a pasture.

Shortly after noon on Wednesday, deputies attempted to pull over a 2003 Jeep driven by Stan Lee Glover, 34, near the Alfalfa Market store. Instead of stopping, Glover sped away, the sheriff’s office reported.

Deputies pursued him through the rural ranching community for several miles before using a maneuver intended to force Glover’s car to abruptly turn sideways and stop near the intersection of Johnson Ranch and Alfalfa Market roads. Glover lost control of his car and drove it through a pasture fence into a shoulder ditch, where it rolled onto its side.

He then climbed out of his car and began running through the pasture, deputies reported. Glover struggled with deputies when they caught up with him, but they managed to arrest him and take him to St. Charles Bend for treatment of minor injuries.

After receiving medical treatment, Glover was booked into the Deschutes County Adult Jail on charges of attempting to elude in a vehicle and on foot, driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest, reckless driving, interfering with a police officer and criminal mischief. He’s also being held for warrants issued late last fall for violating his parole and probation.
