Buckingham Elementary School in Bend has selected a new principal out of a group of four finalists.
The school’s new principal will be Kevin Milner, a principal at Ewing Young Elementary School in Newberg.
“Kevin brings with him an exceptional history as an elementary leader that we believe will enrich the tight-knit Buckingham community,” Bend-La Pine Schools Superintendent Shay Mikalson said in a news release.
Milner has served as an elementary school principal for 19 years in the Newberg School District and is also an administrator for Chehalem Online Learning Alliance in Newberg. In addition, Milner was a teacher for 11 years in Portland and Tigard.
“I can’t tell you how excited I am to come to Buckingham. It’s a school that I’ve been watching in a district with a great reputation. This is a dream come true,” Milner said in a news release. “I am passionate about STEM-focused learning, which is very engaging and hands on for students, as they problem solve and develop 21st Century skills.”
Milner will replace current principal Sunshine Dandurand on July 1.
