• Ecaterina Usatii, of Bend, has graduated from Boston University with bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and psychology following the spring 2018 semester.
• Nicholas Rode, of Bend, has graduated from Whitworth University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science following the spring 2018 semester.
• Anthony Watters, of Bend, has graduated cum laude from Whitworth University with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology following the spring 2018 semester.
• Jennifer Henniger, of La Pine, has graduated cum laude from Whitworth University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology following the spring 2018 semester.
• Brig Rockwell, of Bend, has earned a master’s degree in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology following the spring 2018 semester.
• Ellis Hayes Johnson, son of Michael and Riva Johnson, of Bend, has graduated cum laude from Dickinson College with bachelor’s degrees in physics and Russian following the spring 2018 semester.

Teen feats
• Caleb Bitner of Troop 120, in Bend, earned his Eagle Scout rank June 14. For his Eagle Scout community service project, Caleb and volunteers contributed 103 hours on building a wood fence around compost receptacles at the community garden, at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Ninth Street. He is a 2018 graduate of Summit High School and the son of Daniel and Christina Bitner, of Bend.
FAN notes
• Family Access Network has been awarded a $3,000 grant from the Autzen Foundation, which will be used to connect disadvantaged children and family members in Redmond to essential services such as nutritious food, health care, adequate clothing and stable housing.
School and district notes
• Jim Boen, executive director of Middle Schools and South County for Bend-La Pine Schools, has received the Bev Gladder Award from the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators for his mentoring and leadership skills. Boen has overseen middle school programs and schools in Sunriver and La Pine for the last three years after having served for five years as principal at La Pine Middle School.
Reunion notes
• Redmond High School Class of 1963 will hold its 55th reunion Aug. 3-5. Aug. 3 at 3:30 p.m. will be a tour of the old high school, which is the new City Hall; Aug. 4 will be a no-host dinner at Round Table Pizza starting at 5 p.m.; Aug. 5 will be the Buckaroo Breakfast at the fairgrounds.
