Lawrence (Larry) Arthur Rice Larry Rice passed away June 27, 2018, at age 86. Larry was born September 8, 1931, to Lawrence E., and Mable (Prentice) Rice, in Warren, Ohio.

After graduating from Warren G. Harding High School, Larry served in the Coast Guard in Oregon from 1950-1953, returning to Warren to marry Jean Totten in 1953.

Larry worked as the Urban Renewal and Planning Director for the city of Warren until moving to Oregon in 1965. Larry’s professional career included: Executive Director of Lane Council of Governments, Executive Director of the Columbia Region Association of Governments in Portland, OR, Public Works Director of Washington County in Beaverton, OR, and later in Deschutes County, Bend, OR. After his retirement in 1997, Larry and Jean moved from Oregon to Tucson, AZ. Following Jean’s passing in 2013, Larry moved to the Seattle, WA area to be near his daughters.

He is survived by five children: Jyl, Holly, Larry J, Amy, and Jennifer; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
