First Friday — With summer well underway, all signs point to a First Friday Gallery Walk that will be entertaining and well attended. The artists have done their part, laboring to create and display their works for the monthly event, featuring opening receptions, beverages, eats and, in some cases, music from (roughly) 5 to 9 p.m. at participating shops in downtown Bend and the Old Mill. Below are but a few shows that will be opening:

Mockingbird Gallery, 869 NW Wall St., Bend, will celebrate “Beyond the Surface,” featuring the works of painter Steven Lee Adams and sculptor Liz Wolf.

Nearby Sage Custom Framing and Gallery, 834 NW Brooks St., will host an exhibit of works by Denise Rich and Pat Markle in various media.

Franklin Crossing, 550 NW Franklin Ave., will continue exhibiting Randal Fyfe Leigh’s acrylics on 3D panels in “Parietal Art and Petroglyph Suite,” which opened in June, and introduce Mark Edward Fuller’s “New Coordinates,” a series of recent paintings.

Tumalo Art Co., 450 SW Powerhouse Drive, in the Old Mill, will host the opening for “High Desert Light,” featuring the landscape oils of Janice Druian.
