Alan Johnson, 81: A choreographer renowned for his campy movie collaborations with Mel Brooks, like the 1930s parody musical “Springtime for Hitler: A Gay Romp With Adolf and Eva at Berchtesgaden.” Died Saturday in Los Angeles from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

Oliver Knussen, 66: The creator of the opera version of Maurice Sendak’s “Where the Wild Things Are.” Died Sunday in England.
