• Michael Sawiel has joined Steele Associates Architects. With over a decade of transportation and residential experience with 3D software design skills, his projects include a discovery center and commercial and senior housing. He has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Oregon.

• Jean Miller has joined Summit Bank as assistant vice president and branch operations supervisor. A 13-year resident of Central Oregon, she has over 25 years of experience in leadership, branch operations and risk management.

• Stefanie Bright has joined Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Northwest Real Estate in Sunriver as a broker. She had been self-employed in vacation property management services for 10 years and part of the Sunriver community for 14 years.

• Nominees for Healthy Beginnings’ 2018 Breakfast of Champions Annual Awards Banquet are being accepted. The event is an annual fundraiser for Healthy Beginnings in support of its free screening services for children in Central Oregon and will be held in early fall at the Riverhouse Convention Center. A new addition to the event is the Youth Champion award, given to the community member who is deserving of recognition for their work on behalf of young children. Nominations are due by Sept. 14.
