Who: Painter Courtney Holton’s new construction series is on display at Sunriver Resort Lodge Betty Gray Gallery through Nov. 25. Splitting his time between Bend and southern France, Holton is inspired by the contrasting lights and darks that spread through the forests at night. Taking crushed and reformed metallic strips and adhering them to a dark canvas, he then thinly oil paints over them, creating a three-dimensional effect. A native Oregonian, his work has been featured across the U.S. as well as in Turkey, Belgium and is continuously shown at the Gallerie Expression Libre in Paris.
