- Deschutes County Behavioral Health and Mosaic Community Health integrated services building opened in July, part of the county's new Redmond campus.
Deschutes County plans to host a public grand opening at 10 a.m. Friday for a new campus in Redmond that offers behavioral health, public health and veterans services among others.
The new campus is located at 236 and 244 NW Kingwood Ave., near St. Charles Redmond. It is also the site of a Mosaic Community Health primary care clinic, which opened in July, along with integrated public health services from Deschutes County.
The community is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony and a tour of the new building along with county staff.
“Our new North County Campus will provide a hub for residents to access vital services in a convenient location,” said County Administrator Nick Lelack in a news release.
According to the county, the decision to open the new campus in Redmond was related to the growth in the city’s population and the needs of the surrounding communities, the release said. The new building also provides much needed space for many health-services programs that have outgrown their former spaces.
The new building will house Deschutes County Health Services public health programs beginning in the spring. It will also be the site of parental care coordination programs designed to provide information and resources to families during and after pregnancy.
The building will house a sexual and reproductive health clinic offering confidential and free or low-cost sexual and reproductive health care including HIV testing, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, and emergency contraception among other services, the release said. The clinic also has an on-site pharmacy and provides sexual-health supplies.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children will also be administered in the building.
