Donna Servignat has been selected as the new principal of Summit High School in Bend.
She is currently the director of secondary teaching and learning for the Reynolds School District in Fairview.
Servignat previously served as a principal, assistant principal, activities director and classroom teacher in Oregon.
The current principal, Michael McDonald, is retiring after six years as Summit High’s principal and 22 years with the school.
Servignat is expected to begin July 1.
The Deschutes Public Library Board is accepting applications for a board member vacancy in Zone 4, after Ray Miao resigned on Wednesday.
In a resignation letter, Miao said he serves as a board member of both the Deschutes County Rural Fire Protection District #2 and the Council on Aging of Central Oregon, and would like to devote more time to those causes.
Zone 4 serves specific precincts in east and southeast Bend. A precinct map can be found at the Deschutes County Clerk’s website.
Anyone residing in those precincts is qualified to serve on the board in that zone. All applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. March 27. Applications can be filled in online at the Deschutes Public Library website.
