Road crews working on the Bend North Corridor project closed a section of U.S. Highway 97 for up to 15 minutes on Sunday for blasting.
The full highway closure allowed crews to blast into a deep layer of basalt rock, according to a statement from the Oregon Department of Transportation.
A closure currently in place between Highway 97 and Hunters Circle was lifted Saturday morning.
The highway construction project is expected to be completed by December, ODOT says.
