Girls

Addisen Fisher, Bend softball: The UCLA signee had an 11-strikeout game in the Lava Bears’ 6-0 win over North Medford on March 16, then had a 20-strikeout game in a 3-2 loss to Canby in eight innings on March 18. Fisher has struck out 47 batters in 24 innings while batting .429 with seven runs and five RBIs.

Payton Richardson, Redmond golf: At the Crook County Meadows Lakes Invitational on March 21, Richardson finished with the low score at Meadow Lakes Golf Club in Prineville. The sophomore shot an 85 (11-over-par) and finished with one birdie and 11 pars in the afternoon.

Jaymi Dickinson, Caldera track and field: At the Breaking the Ice track meet on March 14 at Crook County High, Dickinson won the 400-meter run in 59.26 seconds. In the early stages of the track season, it is the fastest 5A time in the state and the only time under 1 minute.

Boys

Tanner Cuevas, Bend baseball: In the Lava Bears’ 11-3 win over Lebanon on March 22, the junior outfielder led the charge at the plate with two doubles, while driving in a team-high six runs and scoring one run to help Bend pick up its second win of the season.

Mason Scott, Ridgeview baseball: In the Ravens’ 13-3 win over Crook County on March 19, Scott did just about everything. On the mound he struck out six batters and allowed one earned run on two hits in four innings of work. At the plate he collected two hits, scored two runs and drove in two more runs to help Ridgeview remain unbeaten on the season.

Owen Harper, Summit golf: At the Canby Invitational on March 11 at the Willamette Valley Country Club, Harper was the low scorer, shooting a 65 (-7) over 18 holes. The senior finished with eight birdies and parred nine holes to win the tournament.

Tyas Selby, Ridgeview track and field: Last year’s 5A state champion in the pole vault picked up right where he left off at the Breaking the Ice track meet on March 14 at Crook County High when he won the event by clearing 14 feet. Although it did not match the 14-9 he cleared at Hayward Field last spring, his 14-foot vault is the highest mark in 5A.
