The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of Week for April 8-13.

Justin deSmet, a senior on the Sisters baseball team, and Taylor Aldrich, a junior on the Bend High softball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Aldrich was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after the junior went 8-for-10 at the plate, with six RBI and two doubles in a three-game sweep of Caldera. In one start on the mound, Aldrich pitched six full innings, allowing one earned run while striking out five batters.

DeSmet was nominated by Sisters coach Matt Hilgers after the senior reached base in six of his 10 plate appearances, collected four hits, drove in two runs and scored three times in a three-game sweep of Creswell. He also had two stolen bases and four assists in the field.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday, April 23. Local players are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
