Fans of the Chicago Bears seem pretty excited to have former USC quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams on the team. The Bears selected Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft Thursday in Detroit.

By the end of the night, Williams’ jersey had broken the Fanatics record for draft-night sales for any draft pick in any sport. The prior record was set by Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, who was chosen by the Indiana Fever with the top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs plan to explore options that include leaving Arrowhead Stadium after voters in Jackson County, Missouri, soundly rejected a sales tax initiative that would have helped to pay for renovations to the 52-year-old building. The Chiefs and Royals, whose Kauffman Stadium shares the Truman Sports Complex with the football stadium, wanted to extend a tax, with the Chiefs envisioning an $800 million renovation of Arrowhead. More than 58% of voters rejected the sales tax initiative. “Time is short for us at this point, and so we need to see what other options are out there for us,” Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said.
