As always, the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend has an eclectic slate of events coming up, including the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, comedy shows by Craig Ferguson and Henry Cho, a ski and snowboard movie, a presentation by the former director of NASA and more.

And then there’s the music:

On Friday, the historic theater will welcome Squirrel Nut Zippers, the anachronistic North Carolina band best known for its hit song “Hell” back in the mid-1990s. For the past 30 years, the Zippers have stood out in a sea of rock, pop and hip-hop thanks to their fusion of vintage gypsy jazz, swing and blues music.

They’ll bring to Bend their “Jazz From the Back O’ Town” show, which focuses on music in New Orleans from the late 19th century to the Roaring ‘20s. Summit Express Jazz Band opens. 7:30 p.m. Friday, doors open 6:30 p.m., $46-$69.

Then on Saturday, it’s the return of The Modern Gentlemen, a pop vocal quartet who first came together as backup singers for Frankie Valli in The Four Seasons. After many years doing that, they spun off into their own group, wherein they sing big hits and old favorites by the Beach Boys, the Beatles, The Eagles, the Bee Gees, Billy Joel and an array of Motown artists. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, doors open 6:30 p.m., $59-$79.
