Honor a civil rights activist on your way to school, consider adopting a dog, find a new puzzle, attend a kid-run market or visit a museum for free.
Park & Walk for Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
Bear Creek and Jewell elementary students can walk to school together Thursday morning in honor of Ruby Bridges, who attended her first day of school at an all-white elementary school in Louisiana on Nov. 14, 1960.
Bear Creek Elementary students should meet at Ponderosa Park for Sparrow Bakery treats and prizes before walking to school. Jewell Elementary students should meet at Sun Meadow Park.
Before walking to school, leaders will discuss Bridges’ positive impacts on social justice, equity and inclusion in schools.

Pint Night & Adoption Event
Street Dog Hero will be bringing dogs who are in need of a new home to the pub. A portion of the proceeds from every pint will go toward the foster-based, nonprofit dog rescue organization. Help Street Dog Hero continue their mission to rescue and rehome homeless dogs.

Puzzle Swap
Exchange a puzzle for one that is new-to-you one or donate your own gently used puzzles in the original box. You’re also welcome to take a puzzle even if you don’t have one to swap. Puzzles for all ages and of all sizes will be accepted, as long as they are in good condition with all the pieces. All ages program, everyone is welcome.

Kids’ Entrepreneur Fall Market
Kids, ages 5-17, will sell gifts, artisan crafts, graphic arts, services, games, food, drinks, jewelry and more at this fall market. This is a real-world experience that allows children to be creative, build confidence and learn skills beyond the classroom. Attendees will be supporting young entrepreneurs in the community.

Senior Day
Visitors 65 and older are invited to enjoy the High Desert Museum for free on Wednesday. The museum will also be open to the general public.
