Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 6-11 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Girls

Emerson Williams, Summit basketball: In the Storm’s 55-35 win over Forest Grove on Jan. 10, the senior finished with 14 points, including four 3-pointers, to help Summit win its 10th game of the season and third in a row.

Sammy Chandler, Caldera basketball: In two Wolfpack wins, the junior guard averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals. Chandler scored 22 points, grabbed four rebounds and had seven steals in Caldera’s 64-51 win over South Salem on Jan. 10, then had 14 points, 11 rebounds and two steals in a 59-46 win over Forest Grove on Jan. 11.

Dylan Cheney, Redmond basketball: In Redmond’s 72-59 win over Henley on Jan. 7, the senior guard scored all 21 of her points from behind the 3-point arc, making seven 3’s to help the Panthers win their fourth-straight game.

Boys

Cash Hattenhauer, Bend basketball: It was a career game for the senior guard in the Lava Bears’ 80-50 win over La Grande on Jan. 9. Hattenhauer finished with a career-high 28 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists.

Brady Kennedy, Mountain View basketball: In a 57-53 upset win over Thurston on Jan. 7, the senior guard led the Cougars with 20 points to help Mountain View pick up the road victory, its seventh win of the season.

Bryce Lowenbach, Crook County basketball: In two games last week — a 53-30 loss to Caldera on Jan. 7 and a 66-60 win over Mountain View on Jan. 10 — Lowenbach averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds. He scored 17 points against Caldera and 23 points against Mountain View.
