Reports: Lubick lands at Ole Miss — Former Oregon offensive coordinator Matt Lubick will be named the wide receivers coach at Mississippi, according to multiple reports. Lubick was the wide receivers coach from 2013 to 2015 and served as offensive coordinator last season under Mark Helfrich, who was fired after the Ducks went 4-8 this past season. Lubick previously coached the Rebels’ wideouts in 2005 and 2006.

Idaho romps in Potato Bowl — Matt Linehan passed for 381 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a another score in Boise, Idaho, to help Idaho beat Colorado State 61-50 on Thursday night in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in the third-highest scoring game in the bowl’s history. Idaho (9-4) matched its highest victory total since moving to FBS in 1996, but the victory will do nothing to quell the debate over the school’s decision to move back down to FCS play. In April, the Sun Belt informed the school it was dropping Idaho after the 2017 season.

Goff to start for Rams vs. 49ers — Rookie quarterback Jared Goff is expected to start for the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday after clearing the NFL’s concussion protocol. Interim coach John Fassel said Thursday that Goff will start for the Rams (4-10) against the San Francisco 49ers (1-13). Goff participated fully in the Rams’ past two practices, and the No. 1 pick in last spring’s draft claimed he felt no ill effects from a hard hit from Seattle’s Richard Sherman last week. If Goff would have been unable to start, the Rams could have turned to former Oregon State star Sean Mannion.

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

Cyborg has potential failed doping test — The UFC announced Thursday that fighter Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino has potentially violated the mixed martial arts promotion’s anti-doping policy. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which administers the UFC’s anti-doping efforts, told the promotion that Justino was flagged for an out-of-competition test Dec. 5. Justino (17-1) is considered one of the world’s top pound-for-pound fighters, and the UFC recently announced the formation of a 145-pound women’s featherweight division largely to provide a platform for Justino at her optimal weight. Justino won her first two fights in the UFC earlier this year. On her personal webpage, Justino wrote she tested positive for a diuretic which she is taking as part of a therapeutic treatment. She hopes to get a retroactive therapeutic use exemption, she says.
