Stackhouse Coffee has vacated the cafe it operated in the 1001 Tech Center after selling the equipment to Thump Coffee Roasters, Stackhouse owner Jake Hermeling said.

The transaction closed on Dec. 9, Hermeling said. Stackhouse, which was in business for 19 months, had another four years on its lease at 1001 SW Emkay Drive, he said, but he looked to get out of it after he started working for a technology company on top of selling real estate.
In addition, Hermeling said he and his wife are expecting their first child next year.
“We just moved on to other things,” he said.
Thump has applied to the Oregon Liquor Control Commission for a full commercial liquor license. Thump owner Bobby Grover said he doesn’t yet know what kind of menu the cafe will offer, or other details of the operation. As of Thursday, Thump was doing some renovation, and Grover hoped to open sometime after New Year’s Day.
Thump roasts coffee in Bend and operates cafes in Bend and Denver.
