Ivan Lee Koroush

Sept. 17, 1923 Nov. 7, 2001

Ivan Lee Koroush of Monroe died Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 78.

A viewing will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Alpine Cemetery in Alpine with Rev. Gary Jones officiating.

Mr. Koroush was born Sept. 17, 1923, in Blackwell, Okla., to James and Lula (Bales) Koroush. He married Joyce Gerold on March 1, 1946, in Bellfountain.

He served as a Tech Sgt. in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was also a flight chief for the 64 Bomber Squadron, 43rd Group in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged in 1946.

Mr. Koroush operated a limousine and taxi cab service in Redmond for 15 years. He then worked operating a road grader and oiler in highway construction.

He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed fishing, boating, television, hunting, coastal trips, crabbing and clamming.

Survivors include his wife of Monroe; two sons, Lonnie and Terry, both of Monroe; three daughters, Penny Albin and Von Buss, both of Monroe and Sherry Gunzner of Oxnard, Calif.; two sisters, Marguerite Barker of Monroe and Wilma Schierholtz of Corvallis; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

McHenry Funeral Home in Corvallis is in charge of arrangements.

James M. Meyer

Dec. 29, 1937 – Nov. 6, 2001

lf James M. Meyer died in Bend of natural causes on Tuesday. He was 63.

A graveside service will be held at the Rowburg Cemetery in Rowburg, Ohio.

Mr. Meyer was born on Dec. 29, 1937, in Bremerton, Wash.

He was a truck driver instructor and tester.

Mr. Meyer married Beverly Eyer in Temecula, Calif., on Dec. 31, 1995.

He is survived by his wife; son, Todd J. Eyer of Niles, Ohio; daughter, Renee Stofira of Niles; step-daughter, Janice Paillette of Roseburg; two step-sons, Randy Evans of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Jeff Evans of Bend; two brothers; and nine grandchildren.

Thomas Lee Brown

June 24, 1942 – Nov. 8, 2001

Thomas Lee Brown died of natural causes in Prineville on Thursday. He was 59.

Mr. Brown was born June 24, 1942 to William and Katherine (Meredith) Brown in Billings, Mont.

He attended school in Great Falls, Mont.

Mr. Brown served in the Navy as a Torpedo man from 1959 to 1970. He was decorated with the National Defense Medal, Purple heart. He qualified in submarines.

He married Macine Lewis Stevenson in Washington on June 24, 1978.

Mr. Brown worked with the U.S. Marshals Service, National Parks Service and as a ranch forman until retiring from a disability.

He moved to Prineville in 1995.

Mr. Brown was a member of the American Legion Post #29, a lifetime member of VFW Post #1412, Disabled American Veterans, and was Past Commander of the American Legion in Chino, Ariz.

He enjoyed fly fishing, building models, gardening, wood working and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife; daughter, Sherri of Portland; brothers, Michael of Iowa and Patrick of Seattle; sisters, Sandee Thompson of Harrisburg, Ore., and Carol Carey of Maui, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robin Tereece Swett

Oct. 20, 1968 – Nov. 9, 2001

Robin Tereece Swett died in Prineville on Friday. She was 33.

A funeral service will be held at the Church of Christ in Prineville at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A burial will follow at the Juniper Haven Cemetery.

Mrs. Swett was born to Richard and Judy Caudle on Oct. 20, 1968.

She was married to Brian Swett in Prineville on Dec. 5, 1992.

Mrs. Swett was active with her children’s education and volunteered her time at her children’s school. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed home decorating, flower gardens, camping with her family and friends, fishing, all kinds of music and the holiday season.

Mrs. Swett is survived by her husband of Prineville; mother and father of Prineville; four daughters, Julia, Paige, Brooke and Abigail Swett all of Prineville; brother, Tod Caudle of Salem; sister, Kelly Vaughn of Prineville; three nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents and younger sister, Tracy.
