Eufama Carpenter

April 22, 1912 Jan. 27, 2002

Eufama Carpenter of Bend died Jan. 27 of an age-related illness. She was 89.

No service will be held.

Ms. Carpenter was born April 22, 1912, in Dunmore, W.V., to Clyde and Maud Carpenter.

She moved to Bend in 1928.

Ms. Carpenter enjoyed sewing, fishing, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her two sisters, Beatrice Olson of Bend and Bernadine Price of Eugene.

Cindy Lou White

Feb. 6, 1962 Feb. 17, 2002

Cindy Lou White of Bend died Sunday due to complications after open heart surgery in Seattle. She was 40.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Driskell Mortuary in John Day. Another memorial service will be held at a later date in Bend.

Ms. White was born Feb. 6, 1962, in John Day to Gary and Lou Ann White.

She enjoyed music, movies, spending time with family and friends, sitting in the sun and telling stories.

Survivors include her brother, Mike of Boise, Idaho; and two sisters, Dee Ann of Bend and Julie Moore of Fox.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital in Portland.

Paige Erich Geiger

May 19, 1975 Feb. 12, 2002

Paige Erich Geiger of Bend died Feb. 12. He was 26.

A service was held.

Mr. Geiger was born May 19, 1975, in Bend to Donald and Jerri Geiger. He graduated from La Pine High School in 1993.

He worked for First Interstate Bank in Sunriver and Bend. He then moved to Seaside and worked in the banking business. He returned to Bend and worked as the assistant manager at Wells Fargo. In September of 2000, he and business partner, Greg Samors opened Indulgence Salon and Spa in Bend.

Mr. Geiger traveled all over as a motivational speaker for the Central Oregon AIDS Support Team and believed in educating young people about AIDS awareness. He enjoyed four wheeling, shopping, camping, hiking and his six Bassett Hounds.

Survivors include his parents of La Pine; two brothers, Glenn of Sherwood and Chris of Portland; and a sister, Donine Archibald of Nashville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Paige Geiger Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch or Humane Society of Central Oregon.

Paul A. Middleton

Feb. 19, 1932 Feb. 18, 2002

Paul A. Middleton of Madras died Monday of natural causes at his home. He was 69.

A private service was held.

Mr. Middleton was born Feb. 19, 1932, in Mt. Grove, Mo., to Ivan and Etolia (Dake) Middleton. He married Shirley (Runge) Middleton on July 17, 1951.

He owned and operated Rim Rock Mobile Home Park.

Mr. Middleton was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks No. 2017. He enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife of Madras; a son, Jerry of Madras; two daughters, Vicki Benson and Brenda Pommarane, both of Madras; two brothers, Ivan and John; a sister, Nettie Rose Hollingsworth; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son and parents.

Alexander ‘Al’ Price

Alexander ”Al” Price of La Pine died Sunday of heart failure. He was 83.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Central Pines Funeral Home.

Mr. Price was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Philadelphia. He married Maxine Rowley on March 23, 1946, in Las Vegas.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Mr. Price worked as a self-employed businessman and salesman. He moved to La Pine in 1971.

He was a charter member of the Sunriver Anglers Club. He enjoyed fly fishing, fly tying, photography and painting.

Survivors include his wife of La Pine; a son, Eric of Gullhead City, Ariz.; a daughter, Nicki Wymore of La Pine; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother and a sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to Newberry Hospice in La Pine.
