Thomas Ray Dieter
Jan. 27, 1931 – May 23, 2002
Thomas Ray Dieter of La Pine died Thursday of a heart attack. He was 71.
No service will be held per his request.
Mr. Dieter was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Nyssa. He married Ethel Luella Edwards on July 8, 1951, in Hillsboro.
He worked at Tektronix for 24 years. He retired in 1982 and then moved to La Pine.
Survivors include his son, Allen Dieter of Bend; two daughters, Diana Gray of Hillsboro and Jody Bowyer of McMinnville; three brothers, Ivan of Boardman, Clarence of Carbondale, Colo., and Delvin of Roosevelt, Utah; three sisters, Melva Graham and Lena Clark, both of Hillsboro, and Mae Jepson of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife.

Thomas Franklin Dobbs
Jan. 30, 1940 – May 22, 2002
Thomas Franklin Dobbs of Prineville died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 62.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Dobbs was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Purcell, Okla. He married Lee Clure on March 15, 1972, in Winnemucca, Nev.
He worked in a moulding and veneer mill.
Mr. Dobbs enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and water skiing.
Survivors include his wife of Prineville; four sons, Ronald Cluse, Larry Dobbs and Troy Bishop, all of Prineville, and Donald Wright of Waco, Texas; four daughters, Tammy Bennett and Tina Moore, both of Spearfish, S.D., and Sherri Watring and Angela Bishop, both of Prineville; his father and stepmother, Oscar and Doris Dobbs; a sister, Jerrie Hill of Ontario; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.

Jennie Marie (Vavro) Nicholoff
Dec. 18, 1911 – May 23, 2002
Jennie Marie (Vavro) Nicholoff of Prineville died Thursday of natural causes. She was 90.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Nicholoff was born on Dec. 18, 1911, in Czechoslovakia to John and Anna Vavro. She married George Nicholoff in October 1939 in St. Paul, Minn.
Her family moved to the United States when she was 2. Mrs. Nicholoff moved to Prineville in 1991.
She enjoyed spending time with children, singing, dancing and playing the piano. She was active in the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church while living in Minnesota and also taught Sunday school there.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette Young of Prineville, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Adolph and Joe Vavro, and her sisters Bertha Steinmueller and Mary Mazar.

Irene (Retzloff) Oldaker
April 13, 1924 – May 23, 2002
Irene (Retzloff) Oldaker of Bend died Thursday of natural causes. She was 78.
Viewings will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m to 12 p.m. Wednesday, both at Autumn Funerals. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Oldaker was born April 13, 1924, in Prineville. She married Emery Oldaker on Oct. 11, 1940, in Idaho.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Oldaker was affiliated with the Bend Women’s Bowling Association and the Assembly of God.
Survivors include her son, Harold of Montague, Calif.; two daughters, Nadine Smith and Margie Weaver, both of Bend; a sister, Mildred Hammer of Port Orchard, Wash.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
