Fredrick ”Fred” Charles Steinhauser of Bend died Tuesday. He was 64.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home in Albany. Pastor Mark Peterson will officiate.
Mr. Steinhauser was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Bend to Charles and Barbara Steinhauser. He graduated from Bend High School in 1956. He graduated from Oregon State University with a master’s degree in education. While attending OSU he was an award winning diver and football player.
He married Jacqulyn Waggle on June 18, 1976, in Las Vegas.
He worked for the Oregon State Police in La Grande before attending college. He taught at Sarah Catholic in Salem and at Calapooia Middle School. He also drove for Gordon Trucking for 10 years. He retired 13 years ago.

Mr. Steinhauser was affiliated with the Albany Elks Lodge and the Northwest Steelheaders.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; three sons, Ron, Eric and Scott; two daughters, Kathie Grimes of Albany and Vickie Kuhns of Nampa, Idaho; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and his parents.

Leonard Bruce
Logan
Oct. 15, 1914 – Aug. 11, 2002
Leonard Bruce Logan of Camel, Indiana, died Sunday of natural causes. He was 87.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Mr. Logan was born Oct. 15, 1914, in Portland to Leonard and Farris (Hickock) Logan. He graduated from Oregon State College with a degree in Forestry. He also studied law at Willamette University Law School. He married M. Nelle Cox in January 1943.
He served in the Army as an anti-aircraft gunner in the European Theater during World War II. He earned the rank of major.
Mr. Logan owned a logging business. He moved to Prineville in 1967 and taught at Crook County High School. He also worked as a carpenter for Coin Millworks.
He moved to Camel in 1997.
Mr. Logan enjoyed his family, woodworking, playing harmonica and mandolin, photography, reading and fine clothes.
Survivors include his son, Leonard Jr. of Troutdale; one daughter, Nancy Canfield of Camel, Indiana; one brother, Robert of Paso Robles, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Prineville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lorraine Helen
Maccari
May 25, 1936 – Aug. 13, 2002
Lorraine Helen Maccari of Bend died Tuesday. She was 66.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at White Oaks Chapel in San Carlos, Calif. A funeral mass service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Church in San Carlos.
Mrs. Maccari was born May 25, 1936, in San Francisco. She lived in San Carlos, Calif., for 35 years and in Bend for two years.
She was affiliated with the San Carlos Chickens Ball and worked on behalf of children with disabilities.
She enjoyed being a wife and mother and a friend. She also enjoyed cooking gourmet meals.
