Elizabeth Louise Gale

Oct. 10, 1922 – Nov. 23, 2002

Elizabeth Louise Gale of Redmond died Saturday of natural causes. She was 80.

No service will be held.

Mrs. Gale was born Oct. 10, 1922, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa to William and Ida Evans. She attended Iowa Wesleyan College and the University of Iowa Nursing School. She married Lovell Gale on April 7, 1956, in Sac City, Iowa.

She was a nurse.

Mrs. Gale moved to Redmond in 1959.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.

Redmond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Eugene Stryker Sr.

Nov. 27, 1946 – Nov. 24, 2002

Robert Eugene Stryker Sr., of Klamath Falls died Sunday of natural causes. He was 56.

A visitation will be held at noon today at Deschutes Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.

Mr. Stryker was born Nov. 27, 1946, in Williamsport, Pa., to Leonard and Jean (McCloskey) Stryker.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Stryker was a boiler tender.

He moved to Redmond from Southern California three years ago and then to Klamath Falls.

Survivors include his son, Robert Jr. of Klamath Falls; three daughters, Mary Oleacker and Barbara Stryker, both of Klamath Falls and Diane Gaylor of Bonanza; his parents of Bend; three brothers, John of Tigard, Kenneth of Bend and James of Manteca, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Joanne Marie Lake

Sept. 12, 1945 – Nov. 24, 2002

Joanne Marie Lake of Madras died Sunday of natural causes. She was 57.

A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Bel-Air Colonial Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Madras.

Mrs. Lake was born Sept. 12, 1945, in Waukegan, Ill., to Francis and Audree (Walton) Zalewski. She married Gerald Lake on Sept. 2, 1967, in San Jose, Calif.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Lake was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi.

She enjoyed writing poetry and music. Mrs. Lake won an International Library of Poets award.

Survivors include her parents of Madras; one brother, Thomas Zalewski of Anacortes, Wash.; and one sister, Barbara Williams of Madras.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Judith Mary (Lehto) Corbett

April 25, 1942 – Nov. 21, 2002

Judith Mary (Lehto) Corbett of Klamath County died Nov. 21 of cancer and diabetes. She was 60.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Ward’s Klamath Funeral Home. A gathering of friends will be held on Dec. 7, at the Marine Corp League Leatherneck Club. Burial will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Corbett was born April 25, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wis., to William and Leona (Schumann) Lehto. She attended schools in Bend where she helped form the Bend Girls Gymnastics team and served as captain for two years. After school, she delivered newspapers for The Bulletin. She graduated from Klamath Union High School. She married Olaf Johnson in 1960.

Mrs. Corbett was a homemaker.

She was a volunteer for Cub Scouts and PTA. She served on the state board and helped write legislation to provide academics for gifted children.

Mrs. Corbett was affiliated with the Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.

She married William Corbett on Feb. 9, 1971.

Mrs. Corbett enjoyed professional sewing, crafts, embroidery and dancing.

Survivors include her son, Randy Johnson of Hillsboro; two stepdaughters, Vicki Corbett of Wilsonville and Jo Rockefellor of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her mother of Bend; three brothers, William Lehto Jr. and Gordon Lehto, both of Bend and Frank Lehto of Medford; one sister, Karen Lehto of Yreka, Calif.; and stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Corbett, her father and a brother.

Jacqueline Prull

Oct. 1, 1949 – Nov. 22, 2002

Jacqueline Prull of Bend died Friday of cancer. She was 53.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Spiritual Awareness Community, 157 NW Franklin Ave., Bend.

Mrs. Prull was born Oct. 1, 1949, in Louisville, Ky., to Max and Miriam Broida. She married Stephen Prull on Aug. 21, 1983, in Nevada City, Calif.

She earned a master’s degree in French literature and worked as a teacher.

Mrs. Prull enjoyed horses and spiritual studies. Her hobbies also included writing and poetry.

Survivors include her husband of Bend; two sons, Joshua and Daniel; her mother of Chicago; and two brothers, Fred Grossman and Ron Broida.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial contributions may be made to cancer research or a charity of one’s choice.

Muriel Reed Creach

June 24, 1913 – Nov. 15, 2002

Muriel Reed Creach of Bend died Nov. 15 of an injury from a fall. She was 89.

A service was held.

Mrs. Creach was born June 24, 1913, in Carlsbad, N.M., to Guy and Eva (Philes) Reed. She married Charles Riley in 1931 in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Creach received a bachelor’s degree from University of California in 1938 and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver in 1955.

She married David Creach in 1956 in Los Angeles.

Mrs. Creach was a social worker. She retired in 1977.

She was affiliated with the Christian and Unitarian faiths.

Mrs. Creach enjoyed collecting rocks, photography, whitewater rafting and travel.

Survivors include her two sons, T. Michael of Prescott, Ariz., and Doug of Bend; three daughters, Margaret of Deadwood, Isabel of Prescott, Ariz., and Shelly of Bend; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandchild and a brother.
