INCLIMB indoor climbing gym opened in the fall of 1996. Starting at 5,000 square feet, the gym has grown to 8,000 square feet of climbing terrain with the addition of its new bouldering rooms completed in May 2001.
The only rock climbing gym in Bend, INCLIMB features jugs (extra large grips), crimpers (extra small holds) and finger pockets in calculated layout across its walls. The gym floor is designed with 6 inches of padding covered with a soft carpet, as well as pull-around pads that are more than 6 inches thick.
INCLIMB is a place where novice climbers can get their start, or experienced climbers can work year-round to improve their technique and endurance.
Owners Larry and Leah Brumwell, both experienced climbers, operate the gym, and work as climbing guides outside of it as well. The Bulletin caught up with Leah to talk about the business.
