Ruby Lynn Wedel

Ruby Lynn Wedel of Redmond died March 28. She was 45.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Community Christ Church in Bend.
Mrs. Wedel was born Oct. 9, 1957, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to William Jr. and Sonya (Salicis) James. She graduated from North Eugene High School in 1976. She married Jeff Wedel on June 12, 1976, in Eugene.
She worked as a paralegal for Deschutes County. She also worked for the State of Oregon in the child support division and she was a laboratory technician.
She enjoyed her friends and faith. She liked ceramics, motorcycles and coaching softball.
Survivors include her husband of Redmond; a daughter, Debra; her parents; a brother, Billy James; two sisters, Tonya Bandton and Tina Wilson; an adopted sister, Lynn Munch; great-grandmother, Elma James; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather.
Memorial contributions may be made to youth programs at the Community of Christ Church or Redmond Community Church.

Shelly Dawn Allen Austin

Shelly Dawn Allen Austin of Prineville died Monday. She was 38.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Prineville Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Prineville Funeral Home.
Mrs. Austin was born Oct. 29, 1964, in Klamath Falls to Leon and Eva (Casto) Allen. She completed her G.E.D. in Prineville in 1996. She married James Austin on Sept. 21, 1996, in Reno, Nev.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Austin was a volunteer at Turning Point Clubhouse. She was affiliated with the Jehovah’s Witness faith.
She enjoyed reading novels, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed bike riding and barbeques with her family.
Survivors include her husband of Prineville; a son, Joshua Saddler of Michigan; a daughter, Jessica Saddler of Prineville; her parents of Prineville; three brothers, Lester and Dan, both of Prineville, and Bill of Portland.

Michael Warren Johnson
March 10, 1950 – March 29, 2003
Michael Warren Johnson of Bend died Saturday of natural causes. He was 53.
No service will be held.
Mr. Johnson was born March 10, 1950, in Long Beach, Calif., to Warren and Carolyn (Choate) Johnson. He married Marsha Escola in 1993 in Reno, Nev.
He was the former sales manager for Robberson Ford and Hertz Rent-A-Car.
Mr. Johnson enjoyed golf, snowmobiling, boating and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Bend; a son, Neill of Glendora, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Crystal Schweizerhof of Sunriver; a brother, Pat of St. Johns, Mich.; a sister, Cheryl Baker of Anaheim, Calif.; and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wendy Sue Carper
Sept. 1, 1980 – March 30, 2003
Wendy Sue Carper of Bend died Sunday in an automobile accident. She was 22.
Survivors include her parents, Ron and Debbie Carper of Bend; one sister, Yvette Akins of Bend; and her grandparents, Orville and Lena Carper of Lostine; Linda Dunn of Fossil; and Gary Holmes of Bend.

Jessie Ilene Roberts Wright
Sept. 28, 1922 – March 31, 2003
Jessie Ilene Roberts Wright of Prineville died Monday of natural causes. She was 80.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Porterville, Calif.
Mrs. Wright was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Elm Spring, Ark., to Chalmer and Floy (Downum) Anglin. She attended school in Springdale, Ark.
She moved to Porterville, Calif., and worked at the Porterville Motel for four years. She was a cashier at the Rainbow Market for 40 years.
Mrs. Wright moved to Prineville in 2002.
She enjoyed gardening and cultivating flowers.
Survivors include her three sons, Thomas Roberts of Prineville, Ronald Roberts of Prior, Okla., and Stephen Roberts of Porterville; a daughter, Patricia Orth of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Ina Stroud of Three Rivers, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Roberts, her parents and four sisters.
