Pearl Marie Schultz
Feb. 16, 1921 – May 30, 2003
Pearl Marie Schultz of Bend died May 30 of natural causes. She was 82.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Niswonger, Reynolds Chapel.
Mrs. Schultz was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Edward and Lottie Donovan. She attended Spirit Lake High School where she participated in swimming and gymnastics. She married Paul Schultz on April 21, 1973, in Valleho, Calif.
She worked as a telephone operator for Bell in Iowa, California and Bend. She retired in 1980.
Mrs. Schultz was affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Oakland, Calif. She was a member of the Elks Lodge and past president of Lady of the Elks. She was also on the board of directors of Middle Lark Manor and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Her hobbies included golfing, playing bridge and roller skating. She especially enjoyed her family.
Survivors include her husband of Bend; a son, David of Beaverton; three daughters, Sandria Farley of Prineville, Sharon Smith of Tulsa, Okla., and Dana Taylor of Iowa City, Iowa; two brothers, Stanley Donovan of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Edward Donovan of Spirit Lake, Iowa; a sisters, Lula Mae Dunham of Spirit Lake; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel Weaver.

Spencer Spike’ Sherwood
Dec. 31, 1987 – May 29, 2003
Spencer ”Spike” Sherwood of Prineville died May 29 in an automobile accident. He was 15.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Crook County High School.
Spike was born Dec 31, 1987, in Martinez, Calif., to Dave and Laurie Sherwood. He attended Ochoco and Cecil Sly Elementary, Crook County Middle School and was a freshman at Crook County High School.
His hobbies included wrestling, hunting, camping, four-wheeling, playing golf, collecting hats and traveling. He also enjoyed music, computers and school.
Spike was a past member of 4-H. He was also a member of the Crook County Mat Club for eight years and a member of the Crook County High School wrestling team. He lettered in junior varsity and varsity and earned the Best Freshman Wrestling award.
Survivors include his parents of Prineville; a sister, Emily of Prineville; and his grandmother, Ruth ”Jupie” of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.

Evelyn Lucy Peacock

Evelyn Lucy Peacock of Bend died May 30 of natural causes. She was 98.
A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday at New Hope Church.
Mrs. Peacock was born Sept. 27, 1904, in Occidental, Calif., to William and Elizabeth (Collins) Kingwell. She married Lyle Peacock on April 20, 1927, in Sebastopol, Calif.
She was a homemaker. She moved to Bend six years ago.
Mrs. Peacock was a member of the Evangelic Free Church of Aroyo Grande.
She enjoyed practicing her faith, praying and being a testimony for others.
Survivors include her son, Richard of Hesperia, Calif.; a daughter, Margie Siefken of Bend; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
