Sports bar taking over Aviemore

As early as next week, a sports bar will have replaced a British-style pub in downtown Bend.

Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill will move into the space at 1020 NW Wall Street, where Aviemore Arms Pub and Grill was.

The transition has slowly been taking place since August when the new owner, Trevor Kalberg, took over. Televisions hanging from the ceilings and big screens throughout the bar will broadcast NFL and college football games.

The name and menu is expected change sometime next week when the sale of the bar is finalized.

Kalberg said Aviemore’s fish and chips, touted as the best in town, will remain on the menu and 30 sandwiches will be added. On Saturdays and Sundays the restaurant will host all you can eat breakfasts for $5.

During Monday night football, patrons will be able to get $1 tacos and 20 cent wings.

Kalberg said he has gotten a good response from the change so far and is optimistic the bar will continue to bring in customers.

”People love it, we are busy every day,” Kalberg said.
