Perdue on all-state team

Redmond High senior Darcee Perdue has been selected to the Class 4A all-state girls basketball team.

Perdue, a 5-foot-9-inch guard, is headed for Weber State University in Utah on a basketball scholarship. She averaged 14.7 points per game and led the Panthers to the Intermountain Conference championship and a 23-3 overall record. It was the most wins ever by a Redmond High girls basketball team.

The Panthers lost to Jefferson 78-70 in the third round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

The only other IMC player to received all-state honors was MacKenzie Larson, a Pendleton sophomore. Larson, who earned honorable mention, averaged 13.9 points per game.

Jillian Harmon, a 6-1 junior from Lakeridge, was chosen Class 4A girls player of the year. Harmon averaged 30 points and 11 rebounds a game during the Class 4A state tournament, leading the Pacers to second place. She averaged 22.2 points overall.

Gary Lavender of Lake Oswego was named 4A girls coach of the year.

Joining Perdue and Harmon on the all-state first team were senior Brittney Davis of Jefferson, senior Kristen Forristall of Oregon City, and sophomore Stacey Nichols of Southridge.

The Class 4A all-state girls basketball team is selected by coaches from throughout Oregon; all-state nominations are by representatives of each of the nine 4A districts. The Oregonian newspaper coordinates voting.
