Howard Gene Brown

March 26, 1932 – Oct. 17, 2004

Howard Gene Brown of Crooked River Ranch died Sunday of natural causes. He was 72.

A burial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 22, at the Terrebonne Pioneer Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m., at the Dayspring Christian Center in Terrebonne.

Mr. Brown was born March 26, 1932, in Meridian, Idaho, to Otis D. And Opal (Amos) Brown. He married Alma Brown in 1950, in Redmond.

Mr. Brown was a millworker. He was a member of the Dayspring Christian Center, Crooked River Grange, Crooked River Senior Center and was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, woodcarving, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Ron and Edward, both of Sunriver; two daughters, Bonnie and Cherie Brown, both of Crooked River Ranch; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife and two brothers.

George Marion Schnee

Sept. 9, 1922 – Oct. 16, 2004

George Marion Schnee of Mitchell died Saturday. He was 82.

Services were held.

Mr. Schnee was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Schnee served in the Army. He worked as a grocer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Terry of Vancouver, Wash., and David Maxwell of Prineville; two daughters, Christina Besendorfer of Liberal, Miss., and Donna Hunt of Vancouver; a stepson, Bruce Ray of Gresham; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a stepdaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mitchell Baptist Church in Mitchell.

Wayne Dickerson Dean

Oct. 31, 1925 – Oct. 14, 2004

Wayne Dickerson Dean of Tillamook died Thursday of natural causes. He was 78.

Private services will be held.

Mr. Dean was born Oct. 31, 1925, in American Fork, Utah. He married Louise Burge in 1946.

Mr. Dean served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Dean Motors in Tillamook for 44 years. He was a member of the Tillamook City Council and planning board, the Campfire Girls Board and the Camp Makuala Board. He was

the first president of the Tillamook Latter-Day Saints Church. He was active in several Tillamook PTAs and charities in Tillamook. He lived in Prineville for several years.

Survivors include his wife of Tillamook; three sons, Scott of Myrtle Creek, Mark of Tillamook and Kevin of Hillsboro; a daughter, Caron Dean Shore of Newport Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Bern L. and Owen, both of American Fork, Utah, and Morrell of Springville, Utah; two sisters, Janice Mayne of American Fork and Dora Roberts of Missoula, Mont.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.

Marvin E. Burford

Sept. 6, 1931 – Oct. 14, 2004

Marvin E. Burford of Sunriver died Thursday of a brain aneurysm. He was 73.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, at the First Baptist Church of Otterville, Miss.

Mr. Burford was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Otterville to Wade and Mary Burford. He graduated from Otterville High School and from the University of Missouri. Mr. Burford married Mona Rose Logan on Jan. 27, 1952.

Mr. Burford served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Maytag Company until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a son, Mark of Sunriver; a daughter, Leslee Shlopak of Rockport, Mass.; a brother, Merrill; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Michael Mike’ McKee

Nov. 8, 1947 – Oct. 15, 2004

Michael ”Mike” McKee of Redmond died Friday of heart failure. He was 56.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 851 NW Canal Boulevard, Redmond.

Mr. McKee was born Nov. 8, 1947, in Sacramento, Calif., to James and Lois (Dillon) Mckee. He graduated high school in Vallejo, Calif. He married Flora Gervais on March 29, 1979, in Reno, Nev.

Mr. McKee worked as a desk clerk for the Harolds Club in Reno until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening and TV.

Survivors include his wife of Redmond; five brothers, Patrick of Santa Rosa, Calif., Terry and James, both of Lodi, Calif., Timothy of Anchorage, Alaska, and Bill of San Andreas, Calif.; a sister, Lisa Gault of California; and his mother, Lois McKee of Lodi, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Dennis James Stone

Aug. 28, 1955 – Oct. 12, 2004

Dennis James Stone of Bend died Oct. 12 of natural causes. He was 49.

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Stone was born Aug. 28, 1955, in Seattle to Dwain and Helen (Crecelius) Stone. He graduated from Greeley Central High School in Greeley, Colo., in 1973.

Mr. Stone was a plumber. He enjoyed traveling, photography and computers.

Survivors include two brothers, Doug of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Tim of Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Victor Herman Schoen

July 14, 1908 – Oct. 6, 2004

Victor Herman Schoen of Tigard died Oct. 6. He was 96.

Services were held.

Mr. Schoen was born July 14, 1908, in Lebanon, Kan., to William and Martha (Sonnenberg) Schoen. He married Mildred Arline Carpenter on April 16, 1932, in Red Cloud, Neb.

Mr. Schoen served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a farmer, carpenter and saw filer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, William A. of Lake Oswego; a daughter, Karen J. Thompson of Heppner; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Milton S. Hunt

Jan. 5, 1931 – Oct. 12, 2004

The Rev. Milton S. Hunt of Bend died Oct. 12 of congenital heart failure. He was 73.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, at the Nativity Lutheran Church in Bend.

The Rev. Hunt was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Baltimore to Milton and Marguerite Hunt. He graduated from Wittenberg University in Ohio and the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, Calif. He married Kathryn (Johnson) Hunt on July 8, 1961, in Portland.

The Rev. Hunt was a Lutheran clergyman until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, co-founder of the Bethlehem Inn and co-founder of the Glory Hole homeless shelter in Juneau, Alaska. He enjoyed fishing, skiing and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Jennifer Hooson of Beaverton; two sisters, Katherin Davis and Betty Mastrobattista of Kensington, Md.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Inn, Nativity Lutheran Church, or the Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary.

Jason Perry

Nov. 12, 1960 – Oct. 12, 2004

Jason Perry of Crooked River Ranch died Oct. 12. He was 43.

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Perry was born Nov. 12, 1960, in Corvallis to Nathaniel and Esther Perry. He graduated from Bend High School, in 1978, and Central Oregon Community College.

Mr. Perry was a woodworker. He enjoyed music, antiques, golf, swimming and running.

Survivors include two brothers and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Nathalie Lisa’ Horsman-Eggiman

Dec. 1, 1956 – Oct. 18, 2004

Nathalie ”Lisa” Horsman-Eggiman of Bend died Monday of natural causes. She was 47.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., today, Oct. 20, at Niswonger-Reynolds Chapel in Bend.

Mrs. Horsman-Eggiman was born Dec. 1, 1956, in San Mateo, Calif., to Ellett and Nathalie (O’Connor) Horsman. She graduated from Mercy High School in Burlingame, Calif. She married Tim Eggiman on Sept. 12, 1981, in Burlingame.

Mrs. Horsman-Eggiman was co-owner of Pipeline Plumbing Company in Bend.

Survivors include her husband of Bend; a son, Jonathan of Bend; a daughter, Nathalie Eggiman of Bend; and two brothers, Chris Horsman of Bend and Gary Horsman of Moss Beach, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
