Harriet Anna Novak

Feb. 4, 1919 – Dec. 11, 2004

Harriet Anna Novak of Bend died Saturday. She was 85.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., today, Dec. 14, at St. Charles Medical Center Chapel.

A burial will be held at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nev. Ms. Novak was born Feb. 4, 1919, in Napa, Calif., to Lloyd and Ada (Ough) French.

Ms. Novak worked as a secretary. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Parent and Teacher’s Association. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a son, Milton Allen of Sonora, Calif.; two daughters, Janice Young of Sublimity and Loretta Sabo of Bend; two stepdaughters, Laura Ahlf of Yerington, Nev. and Judith Jones of Downey, Calif.; two brothers, Charles French of Modesto, Calif. and Lloyd French of Columbia, Ky.; a sister, Edith Ellison of Paradise, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; a brother, two sisters, a stepdaughter and a grandson.

Virginia Mae Green

Aug. 16, 1923 – Dec. 10, 2004

Virginia Mae Green of Christmas Valley died Friday of natural causes. She was 81.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., today, Dec. 14, at Cove Cemetery in Cove.

Ms. Green was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Commerce, Okla., to Ira James and Maggie (Van Vranken) Green.

Ms. Green was a member of the Pioneer Church of God in La Grande and the Baptist Church of Cove. She enjoyed collecting barbies and riding in cars.

She is survived by a sister, Faith Hope Green of Christmas Valley.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Margaret Morgart

Dec. 6, 1929 – Dec. 9, 2004

Margaret Morgart of La Pine died Thursday of natural causes. She was 75.

No services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Green was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Woodrow Township, Minn., to Albert H. and Nelina C. (Larson) Tusler. She married Kenneth Green on June 3, 1949, in Minnesota.

Mrs. Green was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include four daughters, Tina Terrell of La Pine, Mary Capps of Coquille, Gail Johnston of Portland and Deb Saul of Haines, Alaska; a brother, Homer Tusler of Hackensack, Minn.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and seven siblings.

Baird Memorial Chapel in La Pine is in charge of arrangements.

Milton Harmsen Ploen

Sept. 17, 1938 – Nov. 3, 2004

Milton Harmsen Ploen of Bend died Nov. 3 of cancer. He was 66.

Services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Ploen was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Vernon Ploen and Mildred Preiss.

Mr. Ploen served in the military. He worked in retail and freight management. He owned and operated Golf City in Bend.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; a son, Michael; three daughters, Sandy Koch, Lisa Ploen and Shelly Dyer; and four grandchildren.

Irene Garnett Rogers

July 4, 1929 – Dec. 10, 2004

Irene Garnett Rogers of Bend died Friday of natural causes. She was 75.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, at Pilot Butte Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers was born July 4, 1929, in Bend, to William and Allie (Ferrell) Mortimer. She graduated from Bend High School in 1947. She married Bob Rogers on July 2, 1949, in Carson City, Nev.

Mrs. Rogers worked as a medical secretary for Dr. McCusker in Bend. She was a member of the Pioneering of the Pines. She enjoyed doll making.

Survivors include three sons, William of Bend, Gene of Martinez, Calif. and Paul of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; a daughter, Robyn Bates-Garrett of Bend; two brothers, John Myers of Corvallis and Jim Mortimer of Killeen, Texas; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Lillian Naomi Noble

Oct. 11, 1914 – Dec. 11, 2004

Lillian Naomi Noble of Bend died Saturday of natural causes. She was 90.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at Gridley Cemetery in Gridley, Calif.

Mrs. Noble was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Tulare, Calif., to James and Helen (Cady) Johnson. She married Peter Arthur Noble on Dec. 26, 1931, in Oroville, Calif.

Mrs. Noble was a retired grocery clerk. She was a member of the Foresters.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry of Bend and Michael of Buenos Aires, Argentina; a brother, Bob Johnson of Sacramento, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son.

Raymond C. Camozzi

Oct. 12, 1930 – Dec. 8, 2004

Raymond C. Camozzi was a member of the American Legion Post 45, La Pine. Mr. Camozzi’s original obituary ran Saturday, Dec. 11.

Glenn Ellis Kissler

Jan. 21, 1910 – Dec. 11, 2004

Glenn Ellis Kissler of Madras died Saturday of natural causes. He was 94.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, at Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home in Redmond.

A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m., at the Redmond Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Kissler was born Jan. 21, 1910, in Ocheyedan, Iowa, to George and Bertha (Ellis) Kissler. He married Leota (Audrain) Kissler on Jan. 6, 1931, in Redmond.

Mr. Kissler worked as a farmer in Powell Butte.

He enjoyed long drives, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Leroy and Charles, both of Madras and Jerry of Portland; a sister, Maude Ferringer of Springfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Iola Beatrice (Waller) Vold

Feb. 16, 1915 – Dec. 11, 2004

Iola Beatrice (Waller) Vold of Redmond died Saturday of natural causes. She was 89.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Autumn Funerals in Redmond, 485 Larch Ave.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, at West Hills Cemetery in Yakima, Wash.

Mrs. Vold was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Twin Valley, Minn., to Austin and Lena (Johnson) Waller.

She married Henry Vold on Feb. 3, 1937, in Minnesota.

She moved to Redmond in 1994.

Mrs. Vold was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, caring for her family, her faith, children and reading the bible.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley White of Redmond; a sister, Yvonne Lind of Yakima; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and seven siblings.
