Wanda Mae (Marler) Young of La Pine died Monday of cancer. She was 73.

Mrs. Young was born July 6, 1932, in Haines to Orville and Rowena (Taylor) Marler. She married Harold Young on June 29, 1992, in Bend.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker. She was a member of the Pitt River Indian Tribe in northern California. She enjoyed her dog, reading, gardening and animals.
Survivors include two sons, James Fortner of Grants Pass and Richard Fortner of Portland; three daughters, Janiece Jonsin of Santa Fe, N.M., Carol Gorte of Tualatin and Melissa Gutridge of Chicago; two brothers, Pat Pearson of Cascade Locks and LeRoy Marler of Eugene; a sister, Darlene Hultin of Meadow Vista, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three children.
