Contractors will be blasting in Redmond

A contractor working for the Oregon Department of Transportation will be blasting in Redmond through Tuesday near Redmond’s Negus Way.
The contractor is digging a trench for water and sewer lines.

Negus Way is closed between North Canal Boulevard and Northeast Fifth Street.

MADRAS
* Crews are continuing to work on the intersection of highways 97 and 20 in Madras.
They will be in the area to pour sidewalks and driveways, install guardrail and permanent signs and stripe the new roadway. Expect intermittent minor delays.
The new signal at the intersection is scheduled to be turned on in early November.

Crews are also working in the vicinity of Poplar, Maple, Oak, Fourth and Sixth streets.
REDMOND
* Traffic on Sixth Street at Glacier Avenue will be restricted to one lane, starting at 6 p.m. today for trenching work. Electrical conduits will be placed under Sixth Street to provide power for the new traffic signal that will be installed. The one-lane restriction should be removed by 6 a.m. Tuesday.
TERREBONNE
* North of Terrebonne on Highway 97 southbound traffic has been switched to a new bridge structure. Crews are expected to finish paving the new northbound lane today. Northbound traffic is expected to be switched to the new structure on Wednesday.
Final paving is planned for mid-November, weather permitting. The old bridge is scheduled to be demolished in November.
