Young C.O. gymnasts place at state match

Some Central Oregon gymnasts tumbled, others sprung and two vaulted into top honors at the Oregon State Gymnastics Championships, hosted by the Oregon Gymnastics Academy in Beaverton.

Siera Rosser, Courtney Miller and Mariah Dean of Cascade All-Stars in Bend all placed at the Dec. 3-4 competition.

Rosser, a 10-year-old Level 5 gymnast from Bend and a student at Jewell Elementary School, was the all-around balance beam champion with a score of 9.725 and placed fourth overall in her division.

Miller, a 10-year-old Level 6 competitor from Bend and a student at Bear Creek Elementary School, was the meet’s vault champion in her division with a score of 9.525. She placed ninth overall.

Dean secured third place in the vault competition and placed 17th overall in her division. The 12-year-old from Bend is a student at Sky View Middle School. Dean is a Level 6 competitor as well.

A total of 13 girls represented the Cascade All-Stars at the match. The Level 5 competitors took eighth place overall at the meet, and the Level 6 competitors placed seventh in the team competition.
