John Dale Smith of Bend died Friday of natural causes. He was 42.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Life Center.

Mr. Smith was born July 23, 1963, in Las Vegas to Garrett and Eudena Smith. He attended one year of college. He married Rebecca Cornia on Nov. 26, 1999, in Payette, Idaho.

Mr. Smith worked in construction. He enjoyed mountain biking, soccer and caring for his family.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ashley of Bend and Heather of California; and two brothers, Doug of South Dakota and David of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
