SISTERS VS. RIVERSIDE
Who: Sisters Outlaws (12-10, Capital Conference No. 3) vs. Riverside Pirates (14-8, Greater Oregon League No. 2).
What: First Round, Class 3A boys state basketball playoffs.
When: Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Where: Riverside High School, Boardman.
Admission: Adults, $6; students, $4.
Radio: No local broadcast.
Whats at stake: The Sisters-Riverside winner advances to play at Sherwood, champions of the Tri-Valley League, on Saturday in the second round. The Sisters-Riverside loser is eliminated.
Game notes: Sisters is in the state playoffs for the first time since 1999, while Riverside is making its first state appearance since 2001 … The Outlaws have won five games in a row … Sisters had five players earn all-Capital Conference honors: Guy Mount (first team), Jeff Fitter (second team), Carter Davenport (third team), Brian Knotts (honorable mention) and Nate Jackson (honorable mention) … Riverside junior Anthony Calvillo was a first-team all-Greater Oregon League selection this season.
MADRAS VS. NORTH BEND
Who: Madras White Buffaloes (18-7, Tri-Valley League No. 3) vs. North Bend Bulldogs (16-9, Far West League No. 2).
What: First Round, Class 3A boys state basketball playoffs.
When: Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Where: North Bend High School.
Admission: Adults, $6; students, $4.

Whats at stake: The Madras-North Bend winner advances to play at Stayton, the No. 1 seed from the Capital Conference, Saturday at 7 p.m. in the second round. The Madras-North Bend loser is eliminated.
Game notes: Madras is in the state playoffs for the 12th time in the past 14 years … The White Buffaloes are averaging 79.1 points per game this season, 87.4 points per game in their last five games … Junior Derrick Metcalf leads a balanced Madras offensive attack, averaging 15 points per outing … The Buffs have won eight of their last nine games … North Bend had won seven games in a row until losing to Sutherlin on Thursday in a playoff game for the Far West Leagues No. 1 seed to state.
