Madras DMV office to change hours

The Madras DMV office will change its business hours temporarily starting on Monday because of a staffing shortage.

The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The office, which is at 249 SW Third St., will return to its normal hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. once a new staff member is hired and trained.

Customers who need to take the DMV knowledge test must have their number called at least one hour before closing time. They do not need to schedule an appointment for the test.

However, appointments are required for driving tests. Customers can call any field office number to schedule an appointment.

Driving tests cannot be taken on April 6 because an examiner will not be available.

Customers can download, print and fill out forms before visiting a field office by going to www.OregonDMV.com. They can also renew most passenger vehicles online and report a change of address or the sale of their car.
