Park district soccer, golf starting soon

Golf and soccer programs for both young children and adults will kick off next week with the Bend Metro Park and Recreation District.

Adult coed golf sessions will run April 17 through 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. for players who want to learn the basics or improve their game. All aspects of the game will be taught, including full swing, stance, grip, putting, club selection and golf etiquette. Participants can bring their own equipment or request that it be provided. All instruction is taught by PGA professionals.

Cost is $50 for in-district residents, $67 otherwise.

The park district will also offer Smart Start Soccer beginning April 18 for ages 3 through 5. Lessons will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. through May 4 at Hal Puddy Field in Ponderosa Park. Parents must attend with their children.

Cost is $40 for in-district residents, $54 otherwise. Space is limited in both programs.
