ODOT to clean drains on Bend highways

Oregon Department of Transportation crews will begin cleaning drains on Bend area highways this week. Crews will be working from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Bend Parkway and U.S. Highway 20 on Third Street and Greenwood Avenue. Drivers should expect minor delays.
Crews will begin work to replace the Crooked River Bridge on state Highway 126 near Prineville. Minimal delays are expected this week.
In Redmond, Negus Way remains closed between North Canal Boulevard and Fifth Street for bridge work. Use of alternate routes for motorists are encouraged, including the newly completed Ninth Street extension between Negus Way and Hemlock Avenue.
Also in Redmond:
* Crews will pave the north side of Highland Avenue, from Sixth to 15th streets. Drivers should expect minor delays between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Highland Avenue will be limited to one lane between the two sites. Sidewalks between the sites will also be closed.
* Intermittent closures of streets and alleys between Ninth and Fifth streets may take place. Local business access will be maintained.
* One mile north of Terrebonne at the intersection of Wimp Way and U.S. Highway 97, Wimp Way is temporarily closed to traffic to facilitate replacement of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Bridge.
Projects happening near the intersection of Highway 97 and South Century Drive near Sunriver this week are:
* Traffic will be reduced to one lane northbound and one lane southbound while crews work on guardrails Thursday. ODOT asks motorists to follow posted speeds and drive with caution.
Some road projects in Jefferson County will be happening at Highway 26 west of Madras while crews work on the new Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Bridge this week:
* Traffic control flaggers will guide a traffic switch that is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on either Wednesday or Thursday. Daytime delays of less than 15 minutes are likely to occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while construction activities take place.
