Sept. 9, 1928 – May 28, 2006

The Rev. Hans Christian Nordmark of Madras died Sunday. He was 77.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond.

The Rev. Nordmark was born Sept. 9, 1928, in Belle Fourche, S.D., to the Rev. Torberg and Aziel Nordmark. He attended the University of Saskatchewan and Luther Theological Seminary. He married Kathy Nordmark on Aug. 6, 1967, in Corvallis.

He worked as a Lutheran minister until he retired in 1993. He was a member of the Sons of Norway. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, cooking, golf, baseball, fishing and cars.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Chris; three brothers, Paul, Torberg Jr. and Vernon; and four sisters, Mary Garbe, Hannah Ofstun, Charlotte Sween and Ellen Bratholt.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lutheran World Hunger Relief.
