The following recalls have been announced:
* About 200,000 light-up yo-yo toys, distributed by the Ruby Restaurant Group, which does business as Ruby’s Diner Inc. and Ruby’s Franchise Systems Inc., have been recalled because the yo-yo can separate into smaller parts and pose a choking hazard for children.
The yo-yos light up while in motion. They are made of clear plastic with red, blue or green tinted sides with the words ”Ruby’s Diner” printed on them. They were distributed with children’s meals at Ruby’s Diner restaurants in Pennsylvania, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Colorado and California between February and March.
Customers should return the yo-yo to a Ruby’s Diner restaurant for a replacement toy. For more information call 800-439-7829 or visit www.cpsc.gov.
* About 3,600 Sunbeam Gas Ranges, manufactured by Atlas Industrial SA and imported by Petters Consumer Brands LLC, have been recalled because the heat shield is not adequate to prevent floors under the range from scorching. The importer has received two reports of scorched floors.
The ranges come in a variety of colors and have ”Sunbeam” written on the panel that sticks up behind the burners. They were sold at appliance stores around the country between February and May.
To determine if a range is subject to the recall and schedule a free, in-home repair, call 888-597-8660. In the meantime, stop using the oven component of the range. The burners are safe to use. For more information, visit www. sunbeammajorappliances.com or www.cpsc.gov.
* About 106,000 safety harnesses sold with hunting tree stands distributed by Summit Treestands LLC, have been recalled because the harnesses can fail and cause a person to fall out of the tree stand.
The recalled harnesses are tan or light brown with ”Manufactured in 2005” and ”Made in China” printed on a label on their tethers. They were sold with the following tree stands or ladders: Viper X5, Goliath X5, Razor X5, Bushmaster X5, Broadhead Backpacker, Bullet Backpacker, Clearshot, Openshot and MegaSampson.
The harnesses were sold with treestands or ladders at sporting goods stores around the country between June 2005 and May 2006. To receive a free replacement harness call 800-226-1157. For more information visit www.harness recall2005.com, www.summit stands.com or www.cpsc.gov.
