Gym offers kids a wide range of activities

Every other week, The Bulletin will feature a kids organization, highlighting opportunities for youths in the area.
THE GROUP: Cascade All Stars Gym
WHAT IT IS: This gym offers a wide range of activities for kids. Children can drop in to play in the cargo net and foam pit or on a spring floor obstacle course and the gym equipment. Kids can also sign up for a number of classes, which run all year long, including a number of summer camps. The structured classes range from beginning gymnastics to instruction for those at the competitive level. The gym also offers classes in ballet, jazz, yoga and classes for kids with special needs. Open gym for kids 5 and under will be held Saturdays all summer long.
WHERE: Off Reed Market Road at 1134 S.E. Centennial Court, Bend.
BENEFITS: According to owner Lexy Reinholt, playing or joining classes at the gym helps kids ”gain balance, strength, agility, coordination and self-confidence.” She says that the activities are ”great core builders” and will help performance with sports like snowboarding.
AGES: Kids ages 18 months to adults 21 years of age can participate in gym activities. Toddlers 18 months to 24 months are included in a parent participation class.
INVOLVEMENT AND TIME COMMITMENT: Classes are 45 minutes to one hour long, once to twice a week. Competitive kids come five times a week.
WHEN KIDS CAN JOIN: Anytime, any week. The gym is always open to new kids.
COST: $5 is the drop-in fee for open gym or $35 for a 10-visit punch card. Free trial classes are offered. Classes range from $36 to $190 a month.
