The Oregon Department of Transportation has several projects going on throughout Central Oregon this week.
In Crook County, the work on state Highway 126 in Prineville remains the only project. Traffic has been switched to the construction configuration while crews work on the bridge deck. Minimal traffic delays are possible. The speed limit through the work zone is 35 miles per hour and is strictly enforced. Fines double in work zones.
In Deschutes County, on state Highway 126 in Redmond, road work continues in the area of Glacier and Highland avenues in Redmond. Highland is one way eastbound and Glacier is one way westbound. Ninth Street is one way northbound and 11th Street is one way southbound, between Highland and Forest avenues.
Also in Redmond:
* Ninth Street/Veterans Way is now one way northbound from Indian Avenue to Forest Avenue.
Traffic has been shifted to the north side of Highland Avenue, and crews are working to reconstruct the south side.
Expect intermittent, minor delays through the work area. Flaggers may be controlling motorists movements. Night paving of the area will begin the week of Aug. 6.
* Bridge work continues on Negus Way in Redmond, from North Canal Boulevard to the east side of the railroad tracks.
Crews will be sitting bridge beams Aug. 1-4. Motorists should expect 20-minute delays on North Canal Boulevard.
* Negus Way is closed between North Canal Boulevard and Northeast Fifth Street.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes around the closure, including the usage of the newly completed Northeast Ninth Street extension location between Negus Avenue and Hemlock Avenue.
Other projects in Deschutes County:
* Crews may be sealing pavement cracks on Century Drive in Bend, toward Mt. Bachelor. The work would be from Tuesday through Thursday. Expect minimal delays.
* At South Century Drive, near Sunriver, crews continue earthwork activities. No delays are expected. The speed limit through the work zone is 45 mph and it is strictly enforced.
* The northbound passing lane south of the South Century Drive intersection has been temporarily reduced to one lane. The high has been reduced to one lane in each direction to facilitate construction of the interchange project.
* One lane is closed on South Century Drive near the U.S. Highway 97 interchange. The westbound traffic lane is closed and traffic has been shifted south on the road.
Traffic is traveling in one westbound lane and one eastbound lane. No delays are expected.
In Jefferson County, on U.S. Highway 26 near Warm Springs, crews are grinding and paving the roadway. Expect lane closures between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. through Thursday night. Expect delays up to 20 minutes.
All ODOT work is dependent upon weather.
