Both sides of Floater

Post-grunge stalwart Floater will make a return trip to Bend this weekend with two shows, a plugged-in performance tonight at Midtown Ballroom and an acoustic show Saturday night at the Domino Room.

Floater has been kicking around the Northwest since 1993 with a sound that’s hard to categorize; its music is all over the map, from quiet and moody to heavy and psychedelic, and it covers plenty of ground in between.

Floater’s new album, ”Stone By Stone,” comes out next month and includes a DVD that examines the history of the Portland-based band.

Bring the earplugs tonight for the electric performance at Midtown, which starts at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $11 plus service charges in advance and $13 at the door.

Leave them at home on Saturday night for the acoustic set at Domino Room, which starts at 9 p.m., with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $10 plus service charges in advance and $12 at the door.

Advance tickets are available at Boomtown (388-1800), The Ticket Mill in The Shops at The Old Mill District (318-5457) and online at ticketweb.com.

Both venues are located at 51 N.W. Greenwood Ave., in Bend.
