Joanna Ester Brooks

Joanna Ester Brooks, of Redmond, died Sept. 29. She was 68.

Private services will be held.

Mrs. Brooks was born Oct. 8, 1937, in Salt Lake City to Gosta and Mildred Thornberg. She attended Brigham Young University and modeling school. She married Claude Brooks on Sept. 14, 1956.

Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker and worked as a waitress and bartender. She retired in 1987. She enjoyed spending time with family and crocheting.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael, of Battle Ground, Wash.; two daughters, Claudia Whalen, of Toledo, and Kathleen Eddy, of Bend; three brothers, Fred, Ray and Dick Thornberg; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
